Ingleses, Week 37

This week was great (again) and I am getting lazier and lazier at these group emails, but here is what happened!

We went to Praia Brava and had a great time exploring, it was funny because the bus ride there was 1 hour and back so we went there for less time then the trip, but it was fun!

We had this crazy day when we went to this area really far, and when we got there we had this strong feeling (LEAVE NOW) so we left and I don't know what happened, but I know the importance of following promptings!

We taught about the importance of marriage with Dayana and she and Julian are doing so great preparing to get married and baptized, they have such strong testimonies!

We taught Clercio and every five minutes there was another member of the family that walked in and started listening, it was a powerful lesson where we testified of the restoration. and the spirit was so strong it was awesome!!

We had this crazy day with bi-polar weather where it was sunny then two seconds latter it started pouring rain and the streets turned like rivers!! So that was fun!

I know that God is our Heavenly Father, and I know that Jesus is our savior, this church is true!! Pray to know too!

Love you all!

Ingleses, Week 36

Hey all!!

I LOVED this week, and I LOVE my area!! Love livin the island life, here is a bit of what happened this week:

We have had some BIPOLAR weather here in Floripa the mornings are freezing, and nights, but during the day its like 80+ degrees!!

We had this one day this week where everyone was giving us food! Every house gave us something, and one house gave us huge pieces of aloe vera plant! It was a very fattening day...haha!

The other day we were talking to an investigator about why she still doesn't believe in the Book of Mormon, She said that the Book of Mormon has yet to speak to her or give her good feelings. So I felt the spirit prompt me to look in the Book of Mormon, and to share Alma 32 about faith. When I started talking I knew that the words weren't mine, that Heavenly Father was prompting me and guiding me to say the things that she needed to hear, and for the first time, I felt that she felt the Book of Mormon speak to her soul, through the spirit. I learned from this experience that we need to be open and able to follow the spirit. If I had already been thinking about what to say before I said it, I wouldn't have been as able to let the spirit fill my mouth. We need to be prepared open vessels, looking to follow the will of the lord in all things.

We knocked doors because sister Souza had to use the bathroom really bad haha, so we found this really cool family, we taught them, and their son said the closing prayer. He was praying, and his mom started yelling, "with more faith, pray with more faith!" and in the end of the prayer he said, "annnnd there is one more thing I want.... I want a new cell phone.!" We all laughed so hard.

We had a person we are teaching--clercio come to church, and he later told us that he felt like he was in a different world, that he felt an unexplained peace, and a  sadness leave his heart. He is so prepared, and Heavenly Father is really answering his prayers.

We taught Dayana again with her family, and we taught about the plan of salvation, which was good because her mom died the next day!! She said she was sad but feeling peace to know she is in a good place.

I tried Couscous!! it was so good!

Today we went to Praia do Santinho, which was so so pretty! We did a hike, took a bunch of pics, and had a picnic with a membro that said she had a "little something for us" love it!

Love you all!! I know the gospel is true, and love being a missionary and representative of Jesus Christ!

Ingleses, Week 35

First of all, I heard yesterday that my grandpa passed away suddenly. He was and is a great man, I looked up to him so much, he was one of the most amazing grandpas that exists, and I will miss him so much, but know he is with grandma, and that they had a beautiful reunion.

This week was AMAZING. Here is what happened:

  • We visited with our investigator Dayane who is doing soo so good. She is reading the Book of Mormon, she brings new people to the lessons every week, it the best.
  • We taught her about temples and forever families, and she loved it, she wants to have a forever family as a goal!

  • I tried pinhao, which is the best ever. look it up!
  • We had a solid week with a bunch of novos, and some amazing lessons this week. We are teaching so many families, and it makes me so grateful for my forever family. And excited to help people have the same.

  • I tried canned orange peels... was interesting.

I got to talk to my fam and future brother-in-law yesterday so that was the best! I love my eternal family and know that Heavenly Father has a plan for each and every one of us. I love you all sorry for the short email.
