Camboriu, Week 59

Wow! It's already the start of another transfer!! Time flies by so fast. Last week I had some technical difficulties, so I didn't write a group email, so this one will be extra special 2 in 1!

Here is what happened:
  • We had a crazy experience with a recent convert that bought us 30 mini pizzas, and told us we had to eat them all (I ate 15) also she may or may not have a gift to read peoples minds, without sister cardoso saying anything she said to sis c, "you can use the bathroom now, its a bit messy, but you can use it" sister cardoso said "I didn't ask to use the bathroom" and she didnt, but she told me after she had to use the bathroom but was waiting for another opportunity to ask.... we had other strange experiences too.
  • I am trying to teach sister Cardoso a bit of English, but she has a super hard time remembering what is motorcycle, and always says "Motospock!" I die laughing. Haha!
  • We had our last district meeting which was centered on the faith to have miracles, because we all know that God never stopped being a god of miracles. But we stopped being children with faith. When we strive to have more faith, we are consequently letting God work more miracles in our lives, and we are acquiring the eyes to see the miracles that he is already doing.
  • Last week was a week with a lot of rain. We walked home soaked to the bones many times. It was way fun, and we got a ton of crazy looks from people, and lots of people saying we were crazy to knock doors in the rain. But what do you do, we are on God's errand rain or shine.
  • This week we also ran to the fruit market and bought a ton of fruits and vegetables. It was amazing. Our fridge was full of healthiness. I love mangos and goiaba.
  • We taught carolini and marcia from Argentina and carolini said that she read the whole pamphlet, and prayed to know if it is true. She said "You guys aren't going to like this, but i didn't get and answer" I was like, "how did you feel when you prayed?" she said, "I felt so much peace, and then I slept so good, like and angel!" It was so cool, the spirit filled the room as we said, "You got your answer carolini"
  • We had a man stop his car on the street and say to us, "Get in, the spirit told me to stop by and give you guys a ride." I was like, "No thanks" and afterwards said to sister cardoso, I don't know what kind of spirit was talking to him, but it wasn't the same one that talks to me haha.
  • We had a cool experience on the way to church where I saw an older man sitting on the sidewalk next to a bible, and we walked past him, but the spirit said to go back. So we went back and I invited him to church. He said he was trying to go to a church but didn't see any open, and thought ours started later, we lead him to church and he loved it. It was a special experience with listening to the holy ghost. Always act on your promptings.
  • We also had our investigator named suriel show up at church while they were blessing the sacrament, and I understood the phrase that a prophet said, when he said, "The best smell in church is the smell of cigarette smoke." Truth.
  • We also found this week and last week some super cool families from the north east! It was awesome. They are so receptive and kind humble people. That really want to follow God.
  • This week was the 1 year mark from the day i got to florianopolis! Time passes so fast.
  • We are trying to learn Spanish because we have a ton of investigators that speak spanish... so that is a bit hard, but i love them and we are going to try and teach them about the restored gospel, in Spanish!! The gift of tongues is real people.
  • .Saturday night we were knocking doors and met this old man that did not have interest. Not even a bit. But i asked him if he had anyone in mind that needs a prayer or a message about Christ. He said he has a son in law named Fernando that lives on tulip street in a purple house. We were like alright thanks! So on Sunday we went to that Bairro and could not find tulip street! But we started knocking doors, and found it, and saw there was only 2 purple houses. We knocked at the first and a lady answered (not Fernando) and we taught her (she wasn't too interested). So we went to the last purple house with hope in our hearts, knocked and a lady showed up and said, "enter, come in!" "Sit down!" we started talking to her and getting to know her, and come to find our her husband's name is Fernando! We got so excited and said, "wow! Your dad told us about you guys, we were trying to find you!" she then said, "My dad doesn't live in this city." we were like huhhhh, "And your husbands dad?" She responded, "he died" we were like how crazy, we found another Fernando that lives on tulip street in a purple house that wasn't the Fernando we were looking for! But we taught her about the book of Mormon, and the spirit was so so strong. She then told us that she knew it wasn't a coincidence that we found her, or that an old man told us about Fernando and a purple house on tulip street. She said she felt a lot of peace and that we made her day." God lives and he is in control. He helps us find the elect!
I love you all sooo much. Please keep our investigator Enio in your prayers, and Francis and her family that they will find jobs.

Camboriu, Week 57

Hey all! This week has been a good one, I got super burnt, and am already avlot more tan/tomato so that' fun! This Brazilian sun makes me so tired, but I'll get used to it again in a bit.
Sorry, I ran out of time so this will be a short one!
Here is what happened this week:
  • This week we had a lot of good lessons with Enio! We helped him to realize that because of his past he has a present, and because of the present he has a future! He is getting more excited about the 26th being his baptism, and feeling more and more ready! Pray for him por favor! He has such a strong testimony, but Satan is working hard with him.
  • We had a funny lesson with Enio this week, we went to teach him at an ice cream shop, and he tried to pay, but we said no, and that we would pay for our own. So we ate, and the ice cream shop ended up being so loud that we went to another place to teach him. He said the opening prayer, and in his prayer he said, "thank you God for the ice cream that the sisters bought me" after the prayer I looked at sister Cardoso and said, "did you", and she said, "did you?" WE DIDN;T BUY HIS ICE CREAM! haha! We started laughing so hard, and he started laughing then asked us why we were laughing.. and we told him! He said oh no!! I think the spirit told me to say that in my prayer to go back and pay. haha It was super funny, a resenha kkk.
  • We had a drunk guy sing gospel music to us, then told me I needed to sing.. I didn't.
  • We met this one lady named Marcia from Argentina and taught her about the Book of Mormon, the spirit was so strong, testifying of the truth, and I know she felt it. She was so excited after to get her hands on a Book of Mormon.
That's about it for now folks! Love you all! Amo voces!
I will write more next week (don't worry mom ;) )
